If you are like me, you really enjoy the company of your puppy or dog. Dogs are a great companions, as long as they are a well behaved dog and obedient to their owner. Having a disobedient puppy or dog is probably one of the worst and most embarrassing things you can endure, especially around friends, family or even out in public with your pet. Most dogs are very smart animals and will determine for themselves very quickly who the real “master” is, so don’t hesitate to let your puppy or dog know right from the start who is king or queen in some cases.
It is very important you address bad dog behavior right from the offset of it, and you should always reward good behavior as well. Your puppy will learn very quickly that when “I” do this “I” get rewarded with a treat, a drive in the car, a walk in the park or just a little more rubbing behind the ears than normal. However, when “I” do that it “I” have to go to “my” cage… etc.
Training puppies or even dogs that seem to be set in their ways takes time and effort on your part, But what do you get in return for your time? Well that is simple, it will make you feel like you have conquered the world. You can take your dog for a walk, and not the other way around. WOW, would that be great! You can be proud at the family reunion or at the BBQ with friends, when your pet is not hanging around people while they are trying to eat, begging for food. Your dog wont be the one jumping on guest as they enter your house, begging for attention. You wont be constantly cleaning your carpets because your puppy or dog does not know how to let you know when it needs to go outside. Remember, your pet will only be as good as you make it.
